The Afterlife
Entering 2020, the world grappled with the full force of COVID-19. Locked indoors due to shutdowns of gyms, stores, and restaurants, I faced a unique challenge – adapting to the new normal while helping clients who, now at home, had more time for self-care. This year became a period of personal growth. With work on hold, I focused on sculpting my body, working out almost daily, and even taking on one-on-one clients.
Towards the year's end, my physique was tiny but defined, revealing muscle definition. However, internally, life presented struggles. Despite endless dating, prospects seemed dim, and love took a back seat.
In the midst of living life, a positive force entered – a guy who consistently commented on my Instagram. What started as casual interaction turned into deep conversations, leading to sharing phone numbers. Over three years, we dated, faced deployments, and, after his return, he proposed. His love challenged and enriched me in ways I hadn't experienced before. We shared joy, overcame challenges, and built a strong connection. He added immeasurable happiness, safety, and love to my life.
Fast forward to 2022 – I'm newly married, with a growing family, my son in pre-K, and a new role as a lead teacher at the child development center. Balancing family, work, being a full-time student, a wife, and an entrepreneur is a juggling act. Wearing many hats is daunting, but knowing I have a mission is motivating. My mission is clear – to show that it's possible to take charge of life and get in shape, regardless of the stage one is in. This mission is not just for me but for you, the reader. No matter life's trials, overcoming them is possible. Nothing is impossible unless you believe it. It all begins with the mind, and everything else follows.
Now, a year into marriage and residing in South Korea, I am profoundly grateful for the journey and the possibilities that unfold.
Now, in 2023, a year into marriage and residing in South Korea, I reflect on the incredible journey and the strength gained with this wonderful man by my side. Our union has not only fortified my personal growth but has also allowed me to become even more resilient.
As I stand beside him, I've discovered a newfound strength in our partnership. The challenges we've faced together have not weakened us but have forged a bond that's unbreakable. His unwavering support has been a pillar, enabling me to face each day with courage and determination.
Professionally, the landscape has evolved. I've transitioned to working full-time from home, leveraging technology to help people achieve their fitness goals remotely. Guiding others in their fitness journeys, even from a distance, has become a fulfilling part of my life. The flexibility of working from home has allowed me to connect with individuals worldwide, empowering them to take charge of their health and well-being.
Amidst my professional growth, I've also become a more present mom. Being there for my son in meaningful ways, creating cherished memories, and actively participating in his journey has become a priority. Balancing the demands of work, marriage, and motherhood has its challenges, but the love and support of my husband have made it a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
This period has not only marked personal growth and professional evolution but has become a testament to the transformative power of love, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to a shared mission. Looking ahead, I am excited about the continued journey of growth, both personally and professionally, as I navigate the complexities of life with my supportive partner by my side.
